Tokyo Drifter, Entrepreneur, World Traveler, SEMA Car Builder, and USC Graduate Student are a few facets that make up the man behind Haugen Racing. Infamous for his extravagant style and his vivid Yellow, Red, and Blue colors, Matt Haugen had made a name for himself in his short drifting career.
Cars have been in Haugen’s blood since the day he was born. At age 16, Matt’s 2008 Toyota Tundra became his first SEMA Show car. Since then he’s had over 7 vehicles in the SEMA show from his 1 of 1 Liberty Walk Lamborghini Murcielago to his 1JZ swapped Rocket Bunny 350z, dubbed the 351JZ. Matt fell in love with drifting and has been pursuing that professionally since 2017. He competed in ProAm with his Hyundai Genesis Coupe powered by a CBM 4.0L Whipple Supercharged 425ci LS3. Matt also frequents Japan, piloting his 1990 Nissan Skyline R32 with a built RB25.
Besides drifting, racing and building show cars, Matt has many other unique interests and achievements worth noting. Education is of great importance to him, and he recently acquired his Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Southern California.
