Biography
From a very young age, Luis Lanz has been passionate about cars and motorsports, pursuing his dreams with relentless dedication. Born and raised in Maracay, Venezuela, Luis moved to the United States in 2001, where he began building the foundation for both his professional career and his journey in motorsports.
In 2012, he earned a Computer Science degree from Florida International University, developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills that would later prove valuable both on and off the track. A year earlier, in 2011, he founded PartsW, an online aftermarket parts retailer, with the goal of supporting his family while funding his growing racing ambitions.
After years of dedication and steady progress, Luis achieved multiple victories in the NASA Florida ST3 Championship, culminating in a championship title in 2022. A surprise victory at a Formula Drift ProAm event sparked a deeper commitment to competitive drifting, leading him to capture the 2023 US Drift Circuit (USDC) Formula Drift ProAm Championship, earning his Formula Drift license.
Today, Luis has dedicated his life to motorsports. Alongside competing in events internationally in various race cars, he is deeply involved in the industry through his role as the CEO of ZeknovaUS tires, helping bring affordable and high-performance drifting tires to drivers across the United States. His work with the brand even contributed to the creation of the Zeknova Lanz 8 tire, developed with the drifting community in mind
Beyond competition, Luis is committed to growing the sport of drifting as a whole, supporting grassroots events, helping new drivers enter the scene, and working toward one of his biggest long-term goals: helping introduce and develop organized drifting in his home country of Venezuela.
His journey represents a powerful combination of passion, perseverance, and vision—both on the track and in the community.
