Lee Yearwood, AKA “Leebird”. Born in Trinidad, I moved with my mom to the US in 2000 to join some of our family in New York. After moving to Florida I joined the US Army, serving in Iraq as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. After leaving the Army, I attended the Universal Technical Institute and built my first car in my mom’s garage. I always knew cars were going to be a big part of my life.
It was a dream of mine to work on and build some of the best cars around. Best way to do this was to open my own shop. In 2012, I opened up Monsta Performance. Since then, I have built many specialized, high horsepower, street, and drift cars. At Monsta Performance, we specialize in dyno tuning, wiring, engine builds, suspension, and custom fabrication.
I got involved into drifting about 13 years ago as a way to show off my car building skills and driving finesse. I developed my skills at the compound and at events all along the east coast. It got to a point where having fun wasn’t the only factor of drifting, I wanted to excel and compete. I have competed in multiple events and series across the US and Canada. In 2022, I qualified for my FD PROSPEC license at the US Drift Circuit in Florida. Now I get to live the dream, showcasing my driving skills and elite car building for all to see! Join the Leebird ride!
