Hiroya Minowa's passion for cars began at 7 years old when he first drove a JZX100 with an automatic transmission. By 8, he was drifting at Ebisu Circuit, and at 11, he mastered manual transmission and started competitive drifting. His early talent shone through with multiple victories in local events, and he secured a 3rd place finish at the MSC Challenge.
In 2021, Hiroya won the MSC Challenge series and several podiums. In 2022, he made his international debut in Formula Drift Japan, qualifying 1st and finishing 5th overall. The following year, he continued to excel with another event win and podium finishes, culminating in a 2nd place finish in the 2023 Formula Drift Japan series.
In 2024, Hiroya made his Formula Drift USA debut, earning Rookie of the Year honors with 2 podium finishes and finishing 4th in the series. He will return for a second year with Enjuku Racing and Jerry Yang Racing, driving a Toyota FRS equipped with a VR38dett engine as a Red Bull athlete.
