When Walker was 16, he stumbled across a Option D1GP video on Youtube. Seeing the sight of two cars sliding at such an intense speed, and so close to one another was unlike anything Walker had seen before. He began attending drifting events at Evergreen Speedway as a spectator and purchased his first drift car about a year later. Now at the age of 23, Walker is one of the newest and youngest faces on the Formula Drift professional circuit. Walker Wilkerson has taken the Formula Drift world by storm in 2011. A strong contender for Rookie of the Year, Walker took home awards for the 2011 Fan Favorite Driver and the Spirit of Drifting award. Very few Rookie drivers make as much of an impact as Walker has, and there are no signs of him stopping anytime soon. Between insane entry speeds, backwards initiations and a style rivaling the best in the world, Walker is a force to be reckoned with. Walker Wilkerson is here to stay.
