Tyler McQuarrie started racing karts when he was 14 and has since become one of the top drift drivers and is also one of the best multipurpose drivers in the country. Whether it's racing, drifting, or time attack, Tyler has the capability to win in either of the above categories. Tyler won the World Scholarship in 1998 and became one of three Americans to have ever won the coveted prize. He went on to have success in variety of different formulas like, formula cars, NASCAR late models, sprint cars, touring cars, and drifting. He started drifting in Formula D in 2004. Tyler joined Team Falken Tire for the 2009 Formula D Championship and out of the six events that Tyler competed in, he made it to the final four, four times and of those four, he got on the podium three times. In 2010, he won the Formula D Las Vegas round. He also made his first appearance in the World Challenge at the Long Beach Grand Prix where he scored the pole position and won the race in a Lotus Cup car. He pulled off the 'hat trick' at the 25 hours of Thunderhill and won for the 3rd year in a row. 2011 was another successful year where he took home the win at Formula D Irwindale and he gave his Insight Racing team their best finish in Grand Am with a 2nd at VIR. Tyler achieved the un-thinkable and won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill for the 4th year in a row. He joined the FXMD NSX team in 2011 and broke the Unlimited track record at Super Lap Battle Buttonwillow with an overall win and broke the track record at Infineon Global Time Attack with another overall win. In 2012, Tyler returned to Grand Am with Insight Racing and he formed Tyler McQuarrie Racing to field his Chevrolet Camaro Formula D car. He became one of a few owner / drivers in Formula D and it has turned out to be a very successful move. Tyler won the 25 Hours of Thunderhill overall in a 997 Porsche cup car, which this made his 5th 25 Hour win in a row! Tyler would add a second Camaro to his Formula Drift team in 2013 with Indycar stand out JR Hildebrand behind the wheel. Tyler's best finish in FD for 2013 was 2nd at Irwindale Speedway. Tyler also joined forces in Grand Am with MLB star's team, CJ Wilson Racing.
